Bobby's Blog Post 12/7/2025
This past week was filled with lot's of holiday cheer while leading up to Christmas. We have been working a lot on promoting food drives as well as promoting our donation drives to help give back to the community. I have been working on lots of flyers like: https://www.instagram.com/p/DRuZ0saDBs6/ . I have also been working on something called evergreen posts to help promote the Y and to help create viewership. With the evergreen posts I had to think a lot about engagement and how to get people to interact with the posts to maximize viewership.

With the evergreen posts I first scripted what I wanted to do and went from there. One of the posts that I really liked was how to get back into the gym after a break and to prevent injury. My thought process behind this was since so many people get unmotivated during the winter and have less energy many people stop going to the gym or don't go as frequently as before. I felt that it was important to talk about and promote and I figured people might share this post since it contains a lot of useful information.
I also wrote a holiday message that people can enjoy and share with others though it is not done yet I'm hoping to have it finished sometime next week before break. You can also see in my middle slides how I was experimenting with shades and color contrasts. I saw someone else doing this for one of their projects and I really liked it and took inspiration from it. You can see how the text is overlayed on a semi transparent background and I personally think it is very eye catching and looks good and it also helps the text stand out.
The first slides that I made are about winter tips and how to stay safe in the winter. The thought process behind these was to remind people of how important it is to stay safe and I am hoping that it gets a good interactions rate because its easily sharable. This is something I have been testing with posting to instagram slideshow styled easily sharable posts with tips. They seem to be getting good traction so far so I will be continuing to do this.
Anyways that's it for now and I hope that you have a wonderful holiday break!
