These week has been quite abnormal due to outside conflicts which have resulted in a less than average work schedule of only two days this week. Despite me not working for the full work week, I have gained a lot of knowledge inside and outside the workplace.

When I am in the office. I have learned quite a bit about different software programs as while as how to implement different marketing tactics to improve the company overall and to get people through the door.  I have also brought my own ideas to other staff members and shared my thoughts. and gaining an understanding of how to speak in a professional setting, My ultimate goal has been getting more people through the door. To accomplish this goal, I have been making flyers and social media posts that can appeal to a wider audience. Some things that I have been learning is it's very important to have white space, it grabs viewers attention and creates a simplistic feel. Popping bright colors and coordinating colors are also important so understanding what colors contrast well together using color wheels etc. is also very important. I enjoy trying to figure out what colors to use and how to organize for example text on a flyer or how to create social media descriptions that are catchy and make the viewer intrigued.

Though I did not go into work Wednesday or Thursday, I feel as though in staying home I have developed skills that will help me in this job, as well as future employment opportunities. In taking time for my mental health, I have learned better how to do self reflection and how to better cope with struggles that come up in life. Thinking about situations has been incredibly beneficial, and it seems like applying that to work could help immensely, especially in this field. Marketing is all about appealing to people, and I find that thinking like a consumer, or your target audience, can be the thing that makes or breaks an advertisement. Though this week I have just been reflecting personal incidents, bringing that into the workplace could prove to  help the YMCA, as shared experiences have a way of uniting people, and relatability can be a huge selling point.

I have learned a lot in my time at this internship, and I look forward to continue growing as an employee. My end goal is to get more comfortable working with these previously mentioned software platforms, creating successful infographics to help the business, and applying my own background knowledge to reach and connect with a larger set of consumers.
