Bobby's Blog 11/24/25

Hello - I spent my whole week doing videos. I did four different videos: The first video that I worked on was with Molly from the YMCA, who is in the marketing branch. This video was to promote the Y's Week of Giving. First I drafted a script using AI (Chat GPT 4.0), and I gave it the parameters that I thought would create a good script. Once I figured out the script that I thought would be good, I presented it to her and we got to filming. We covered four topics in the video. One was safety around water for kids learning to swim; Live Strong, which is our cancer survivor program, so they can stay healthy during treatment; accessible and affordable child care; and inclusive fitness programs for all abilities. Here is a link to the video.  https://www.instagram.com/p/DRSc0t6FQSj The second video that I did was for our "Every Mile Matters" 5K. It raises money for our annual campaign to help families and children in need. I approached the athletics leaders with an idea to he...

This week was a bit shorter of a week due to the holiday so this may be a bit of a shorter blog post. This week on Thursday me and my boss Pat worked on a video for our week of giving. The goal of this video is to help to strengthen our community and provide gifts for those in need.  https://www.instagram.com/p/DRA1PQWCSdY  . Me and Pat created a script thinking about what sounds good and how to talk to make the video appealing and easy to watch. After we came up with the script we filmed the video using our iphones. It took awhile and many failed script attempts but we managed to film the video in about 15 minutes. We downloaded the video and then I got to editing. First I decided what transitions to use when I make videos I use a notepad top create a general layout of what I want it to look like. I started with what video transitions to use and what certain times stamps are for the video like when to insert a image or if we need a sound inserted.  On Friday I film...

This week was extremely busy. I started off by finishing up my 16 slides on Canva:  https://www.canva.com/design/DAG3LzHVcmM/f0BqZlz-Nte9xS4pgNGIcg/edit?utm_content=DAG3LzHVcmM&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton  . One of my focuses on Canva was using more white space, I also was working on layering as seen on the first 4 slides. With the layering I was  trying to make things look 3d on a 2d space so if a object like a person was close on a hill I would make them bigger vs if they are further away in the background I would make them smaller. I also found it a challenge at times to color match and make the background colors look like they went with the front graphics that I decided to use. There is a feature on Canva that helps color matching and I used hex tools to find colors that looked well together.  I also worked on Instagram posts for healthy living tips for adults as well as one for teens. I do these frequently s...

Hey blog, I have learned so much this week. I started off the week working on promotional flyers for our collaboration with Arteca Karate. First I figured out what I wanted them to look like and I went from there, I started with a rough draft and outlined it out on Canva. It took me around 5 tries before I found the design that I liked and what colors I though popped the best.  On Wednesday I started a huge project. I was tasked to start working on our 16 social media posts. This assignment I was given is I am supposed to create 16 social media promotional posts that will be posted each Sunday until we run out about the YMCA and special amenities we have to offer like our sauna. I also have been working outside of my hours to get this project done and I quite enjoy it though it takes a lot of thinking because all of the posts have to look different and stand out from each other which has taken a lot of time and effort. I personally find it quite helpful when I am stuck to try and c...
